The incongruity of the bear in a human situation is a clever way of expressing the uneasiness of man’s perception of self in relation to acceptable norms. As a child will draw disproportional figures so Jay uses oversized, detail heads and regressive self-conscious with representational bodies in a sophisticated concept of self as it develops into an independent and socially acceptable creature.
This picture would be perfect as a gift for art enthusiasts, collectors or as a decorative statement piece for the home. A truly fantastic picture by the immensely talented Jay Crowther. It has been a true privilege to work with this picture.
Hand Signed by the artist.
